The Road Back - Part 1

Once again Cathy and I are on the move.  After 3 1/2 years landlocked in Toronto, we are on the move again to the west coast.  We bought a new boat (CYGNET), a Concept 40 designed by Gary Mull.  Oddly enough, we closed the deal on Cathy's birthday, October 26th, the same day we closed the deal on Tarun!  Since then, life has been a whirlwind of planning and executing a complicated move.  Cathy handed in her resignation, and I spent the most of November sorting out how we were going to actually get our stuff back the west coast.  We have downsized ALOT.  When we moved into our last place in Oakville, we had to use the largest U-Haul truck available.  We are now down to one pallet load of personal goods plus what fits in our Mazda Tribute, about 2 cubic meters all up.  Me, I find it very liberating to clear out the possessions, Cathy, eh, doesn't matter one or another to her.  So, we moved out of our townhouse, but we haven't really left yet.   Our pallet load of stuff has been shipped (JR Hall Trucking, an excellent trucking company, very professional family run business, HIGHLY recommended), but the rest of our stuff is siting in a friends basement while we couch surf around friends and family for the month of December.  Just now, we are in Maryland visiting our kiwi friends for US Thanksgiving.  Our trip really begins on or around January 2, 2014 when we plan to start the drive back to BC and our waiting boat.   More to come.....
